Beach Park achieves Zero Waste certification with record levels of recyclability

Aqua Park and Parque Arvorar extend commitment to sustainability

In the week of Recycling Day, Beach Park is reaching another important milestone in its environmental trajectory. It is therefore celebrating achievements that reinforce its leading role in the sector. Aqua Park renewed its certification with 97.1% recyclability. The Zero Waste Brazil Institute (ILZB) awarded the park the "Zero Waste" seal and gave it Concept A, the highest rating in the Good Practices index.

Since then, the park has maintained this recognition thanks to its efficient waste management. In addition, TripAdvisor voted it the best water park in the Americas in 2024. Meanwhile, Parque Arvorar, which focuses on environmental education, achieved 93.3% recyclability and was awarded Concept B. With this result, it became the first theme park in Ceará with this certification.

Ohana Resort reinforces its commitment to the circular economy

Ohana Beach Park Resort has adopted sustainable practices since the start of construction. The project team implemented the Zero Waste Management System (ZWMS), based on the 9 R's of the circular economy: reject, rethink, reduce, reuse, repair, restore, remanufacture, reuse and recycle.

The resort has also entered into a partnership with the NGO Global Zero Waste. If it passes the audit, the resort will receive the "Zero Waste Work" seal . Beach Park thus reaffirms its role as a leader in sustainable tourism in Brazil.

Waste management: from conscious disposal to social impact

Composting reduces organic waste and closes the loop

According to Raissa Bisol, sustainability manager, the process begins with rigorous sorting. The team then sends the recyclables for reuse, while the organic waste goes to the composting yard. With a capacity of 3.5 tons per day, the system transforms waste into up to 518 tons of organic compost per year.

Recycling boosts social programs

In addition to environmental benefits, Beach Park generates social impact through recycling. For example, the income obtained finances:

  • Monthly distribution of food baskets;
  • Direct support for APREMACE and AERA in Aquiraz;
  • Regular donations of diapers and food to charitable organizations;
  • Expansion of the Recycling Lives Program, which offers employment and dignity to former scavengers.

In this way, waste management is part of the company's social responsibility.

Support Fund strengthens care for employees

Finally, the Support Fund takes care of employees in vulnerable situations. The program works by selling used furniture, appliances and equipment. Thanks to this initiative, internal bazaars generate funds to cover health and social assistance emergencies.
