When Christmas approaches, the city fills with lights and Christmas decorations, making the capital of Ceará even more beautiful and bright.

Check out the best tips we have gathered below!
A Christmas icon in Fortaleza is the choir performed by an average of 150 children and teenagers, singing traditional Christmas songs, which takes place free of charge in Praça do Ferreira. Natal de Luz do Ceará has been around since 1997 and, this year, the performances will take place until December 23.
In addition to offering performances by the Coral de Luz choir on the balconies of the Excelsior Hotel every day at 6 p.m. in Praça do Ferreira, the event is committed to environmental preservation and has already entered the Guinness Book of World Records by planting 65,000 seedlings in just 23 minutes and 30 seconds.
In this year's edition of 2025, 100,000 seedlings of cashew, acerola, guava, palm, noni, sapoti, pitanga, ata, graviola, mango, açaí, and ipê species will be distributed in Praça do Ferreira, species that represent life, love, hope, beauty, and fruit.
Another tip is to attend comedy shows featuring local comedians, check out handmade products at the craft fairs on the Beira-Mar boardwalk, and enjoy the diverse regional flavors by the sea.
There, in addition to the market, which is one of the main tourist attractions in the region, it is also worth checking out the Ponte dos Ingleses (English Bridge), a great place to watch the sunset, and the Fish Market, where you can buy fresh fish and seafood and ask for it to be prepared.
If you want to admire works of art and experience moments rich in culture, it is worth visiting the Dragão do Mar Center, where there is a cinema showing films that are not normally shown in the city's shopping malls, a street market, museums, theaters, exhibitions, and artistic performances.
Next to Dragão do Mar, there is also Caixa Cultural, which hosts theatrical performances, workshops, and cultural activities for all ages, storytelling, and art exhibitions.
One idea for exploring other beaches in Ceará is to pay for excursions, which are usually sold on the seafront, to visit Cumbuco, Águas Belas, Morro Branco, and Canoa Quebrada.
